It takes a classy animal to win the National Hunt Chase these days and Saturday’s Warwick winner OK Corral looks to have all the attributes required to be successful in this years renewal.
It was significant that the leading amateur rider, Derek O’Connor, made the trip over to ride the JP McManus owned nine year old. This was O’Connor’s first ever ride at Warwick. The style in which he put the race to bed suggested there is plenty more to come, specifically when stepped up in trip.
O’Connor will have the pick of the rides come the big day and anything he rides will be sent off favourite. At the current price of 4/1 OK Corral makes plenty of appeal.
