We have a couple of predictions and tips well worth taking on a particular Premier League match today. It’s Round 25 and the January Transfer Window has just closed. Batshuayi to Palace, Solanke & Clyne to Bournemouth and Pulisic to Chelsea look the most significant deals done.
This weekend we see Liverpool and Man City both try and get back to winning ways after midweek disappointments. Burnley and Southampton meet in a game between two that may have cleared themselves of the drop zone by at least three points. Chelsea, oh Chelsea…well they simply have to beat lowly Huddersfield otherwise Mr Sarri may well be on his way.
Focus in on Burnley v Southampton, this game is one of those where motivation may play an even bigger part in the result than normal. That being because both managers may well take a draw. In situations like this throughout history, that result increases in likelihood for obvious reasons.
The Clarets are sat in 17th with 23pts, that’s 4pts clear of Cardiff in 18th. The Saints are on the same amount of points but ahead by virtue of goal difference. A point here is acceptable to both managers, if you could get an honest answer out of them. Particularly given they are both in decent form of late. Only one loss between them in a combined 10 matches shows how they have come to life.
