The rain has been coming down here in Chester for the last day or so and this morning it’s continued. That gives a long shot La Voix Magique a better chance than his 50/1 odds suggest. The selection is proven to go on ground with cut after his win at the bog that is Haydock when soft/heavy. Kingscote knows Chester well and it’s only the fact the filly is trained by small trainer Steph Hollinshead that has seen her put in at such a big price.
Future Investment is a strong word in the 1m2f maiden at 16:05. The ground coming soft is a big plus for Ralph Beckett’s gelding. His introduction at Windsor was pleasing and particularly as the stable felt there was plenty more to come (went off at 40/1 and placed 3rd). Taking the 10/3 we will likely have a bigger price than the SP today.
