The betting as it stands will be shaken up for the most prestigious flat race in the UK. That’s because it’s unlikely both Sir Dragonet and Telecaster are both supplemented. That means looking outside of those two for an almost certain runner should give us a bigger price than we will get on the day.
Madhmoon looks to be a tough solid option here with two pleasing enough runs this season to fine tune him for this task. His trainer Kevin Prendergast says that this fella has the best chance of any horse he has sent over the water for the Classic. He’s previously had five shots at the race but ultimately has come up short with none placed. That tempers enthusiasm very slightly but there does seem to be a confidence behind Madhmoon and he rates a very interesting proposition.
3 Best Reasons for Backing Madhmoon
1) His fourth in the 2000 Guineas looks like decent form and that race is regarded as the best trial for the Derby.
2) He has beaten the current favourite for this Epsom race in Broome.
3) As his trainer isn’t Aiden O’Brien, he is probably a few points bigger than he should be.
