There are a few Cup Finals this weekend bringing their respective seasons to a close. In Spain, Barcelona take on Valencia and presumably lift the trophy. In Portugal Sporting Lisbon face Porto in what should be a cracking match but it’s too close to call for us to take a betting interest. In Germany though things are a bit more interesting with RB Leipzig meeting Bayern Munich.
The two sides met a couple of weeks ago in the league and had Bayern won it would have cemented the league title there and then. Having left with a point from the 0-0 draw they had to wait until the final weekend to tie things up. In the home fixture Bayern sneaked a 1-0 win late on courtesy of Frank Ribery demonstrating that these sides are more evenly matched than the odds suggest.
Leipzig conceded fewer goals than every other team during the last Bundesliga campaign and the draw with Bayern gave them an unbeaten streak of 18 games. That came to end in the final league game at Werder Bremen but that doesn’t give us too much concern given that RB had nothing to play for and the squad was rotated in preparation for the final.
We’ve got two very good teams here with not a lot to separate them so the 5/1 on Leipzig seems perfect for a free bet punt. If say Tottenham were playing Man City at a neutral venue and those odds were available we’d be all over it so it makes perfect sense to do likewise here.
