Thanks for joining us for the first in a new section of the website where we go inside genuine bookie trading rooms and get all the latest information from behind enemy lines. For the next few weeks we will be checking in with a Trading Manager at one of the newer companies to set up on the island of Malta. They are purely UK facing and came to the industry with a few fresh ideas and a decent marketing budget.
GR: Hello mate, how was your weekend?
TM: Morning, do you mean personally or professionally?
TM: Personally it involved a barbecue, a few Peronis and a bit of sun burn. Professionally it was a good weekend for the sportsbook.
GR: Decent beer, get the after sun out. Tell us a bit more about the trading then.
TM: The cricket was really solid with the England India game being the highest turnover event of the weekend. We also had a nice surprise in the Darts, the Czech Open. There was far, far more turnover there thanks to one or two new customers and we managed to get the right results.
GR: Is the horse racing product taking off? There was the Irish Derby this weekend with a 33/1 winner so surely that was a skinner.
TM: Yeah pretty much, 90% hold there on that one and it was the biggest betting race for us that day.
GR: Decent week ahead with the Women’s World Cup and Cricket World Cup getting to critical stages.
TM: Exactly, England Women play tonight and look a big price to beat the USA. They’ve already been popular at 3/1 with our customers and that will continue right up to and during the match I’m sure.
GR: Yeah I’m sure if England win and both teams score it’ll be costly. So before we say farewell, give us your best bet for the match tonight.
TM: I fancy us to keep it tight and have backed the draw at 5/2 so fingers crossed.
GR: Good luck and catch you in a few days for another update, cheers.
