While last night was exciting enough, Tuesday was where it all kicked off as Glen Durrant came through for us and we had the unexpected bonus of Gary Anderson losing to Mervyn King too. The combination of those results has seen Durrant go from 20/1 when we backed him to 9/2 in one fell swoop which means we can lock in a profit now whatever happens.
Tonight he takes on James Wade after Michael Smith and Mervyn King have played their match. There are a number of players who we’d be happy for Durrant to go up against right now but James Wade is not one of them. Wade has been one of our chief weapons against MVG over the past year and he’s tough as nails so we’re looking at our options
The straight cash out if it’s available to you is a possibility but for us it would be a little extreme. While we’re concerned about James Wade our man has just beaten MVG and is priced as the marginal favourite for this match. A variable cash out is better if you can and that’s what we’ll be doing on this occasion. With the current odds available we can ensure we double our money should Durrant get knocked out and ten times our stake if he takes the title. Alternatively you can lay Durrant for half a point on a betting exchange such as Matchbook which will have the same result.
How we placed our bet
Event: World Matchplay Darts
Betting Market: Outright
Selection: Glen Durrant – cash out as above
Stake: 0.5pt if laying off on an exchange.
