Panthers v Buccaneers betting tips and predictions
With week one been and gone, there is one major thing to remember! Don’t overreact to one result. Now I’m not saying we forgive the Dolphins or want to back the Steelers this week but some lines are moving an awful long way from their look ahead numbers and that might not be right.
Thursday Night Football gives us the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers. Both teams are coming in on the back of a loss but there was much more to like about Carolina’s 27-30 defeat to the Rams than the Buccaneer’s 17-31 against San Francisco.
Tampa showed signs of getting it together defensively but there were too many moments with individual players switching off. Against the Panthers, that will lead to the game being beyond them quickly.
The spread for this game is likely to get to -7 Panthers and I’d still rather be that side but currently at -6.5 and the significance of that half point, the bet is with Carolina – don’t hang around.
KEY MAN – CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY (Panthers’ running back)
Started the season hot with 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. He will go a long way to ensuring Carolina get their first win on the board.
NOTEWORTHY – Panthers’ executive director of football staff Mark Carrier is the second-leading receiver in Buccaneers’ history in terms of yardage. He was top dog for the best part of twenty years until Mike Evans stole the thunder last year.
Play Carolina -6.5 with William Hill at UK 20/23, Euro 1.87, US -115
