Liverpool v Newcastle
The first game of the weekend presents something of a mismatch but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some value Saturday Football Prediction.
In Liverpool, we have a club that is long odds on to finish in the top 2 this season and another (Newcastle) who is expected to finish in the bottom 2 according to bookmaker odds and their implied probability.
Piling in on Liverpool at a best priced 1/6 with Sport Nation won’t really suit most punters. Instead we’ve tried to find the best bets in the Correct Score, Goalscorer and Specials markets.
The gulf in class here should be great and after managing their first clean sheet of the season in Gameweek 4, Klopp’s men can continue the shut-outs. In mismatches like this during the German’s reign, Liverpool have had expected goals of well over 2.5.
All 3 of the Reds’ danger men have netted this season and it would be no surprise for at least 2 of them to get amongst the goals today. Firmino the man who makes it all tick with his pressing could be in line for another today, he’s averaging more shots on target this season (albeit only 4 league games) than he did last season.
There are likely to be opportunities from set-pieces, something you would normally suggest a Steve Bruce team could defend. Look a little closer though and they’ve been all at sea when facing corner kicks. Liverpool have been racking up the corners this term and will know the value of the the corner with VVD and Matip about.
