We’ve looked at Ajax a lot already this season but that’s with good reason – they were within a hair’s breadth of making the Champions League final and are on fire again now. Traditionally though they’ve had strong competition domestically from PSV and Feyenoord. Although Feyenoord have fallen away PSV remain a force, winning the league two in 2017/18 and finishing second last season by just three points.
In the 2018/19 Champions League they were drawn in the same group as Barcelona, Tottenham and Inter and understandably found things very tough. This season they’ve won both Europa League games having lost a Champions League play-off on away goals. In the league they have 20 points from eight games – as do Ajax – with a goal difference of +17 already.
The visit of VVV Venlo should hold no fear for them today then with the away side available at 25/1 in places if that floats your boat. PSV are generally priced at 1/10 and while that’s horrible it’s probably deserved. Despite that, value is there to be found and it is located in the first goalscorer market.
While PSV are not short in attacking options Pablo Rosario has opened the scoring in the last three matches (two in the league and on Thursday night in the Europa League) but can still be backed at 14/1 with many firms. With the potential high scoreline that could be racked up this afternoon any goal from Rosario will bring us profit so we’re backing him each way with William Hill.
