England are in Prague tonight for the match that will all but confirm their presence in Euro 2020.
England face a Czech Republic side that they beat 5-0 in the reverse fixture but things have changed somewhat since then. The Czechs have won both home games in the meantime and have qualification in their own hands even if they don’t win. Neither side can really ‘lose’ as a result. England, with four wins from four and nineteen goals scored will surely top the group regardless. The Czech Republic know that their game with Kosovo next month is the likely crunch fixture for them.
Line-up changes are therefore likely from the Czechs and certain from England given the squad that Gareth Southgate has picked. Mason Mount looks set to start for one and he may be joined by his club team-mate Tammy Abraham who we are focusing on today. Given the nature of this fixture we’d like him to make the starting eleven but he looks sure to play a part anyway given that it will cement his future as an England player. He is currently the leading scorer in the Premier League and given the chance he could well open his international account too.
We already know all we need to know about Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling – Marcus Rashford simply doesn’t justify his place in the team at the moment. We’ll therefore back Abraham at 9/2 with Betfred to score first on the assumption that he will start. However we’ll wait for the team news and back him as last goalscorer should he only be on the bench.
