We’ve got a rare situation this week with a couple of long odds football teams looking in pretty decent nick going into this set of fixtures. During our usual free bet flutter search we compile a list of the biggest priced teams in the top leagues and pick the team we deem most likely to cause an upset. This week we’ve got Eibar and Crystal Palace who are both decent at home and in good form too.
Eibar are always a test for the big sides in La Liga and this season is proving to be no different. They took a two-nil lead at Atletico Madrid last month before falling to a last minute winner and beat Sevilla when they hosted them at the end of the month. Barcelona already have two away defeats to their name this season but strangely enough as soon Messi became fit they won four in a row.
Barcelona have had players away playing for their country sides and they have a Champions League game in midweek to follow. Topping that off they play Real Madrid next weekend so this fixture will be lowest on their priority list. However, most of these issues also apply to Manchester City as well and opposing them is the preferred option here. If you do have a free bet lurking somewhere though and don’t know where to use it there are worse options than Eibar.
City’s weaknesses are now well known by now. Losing to Norwich was a genuine shock but they recovered by scoring eleven goals to nil in their next two games. The visit to Goodison though showed that they were not out of the woods and it was clear that a better team would have at least taken a share of the spoils. Wolves duly obliged on their visit to City last time out and Palace are 12/1 in places to dish out even more punishment.
City have only one victory in three against Palace and lost at home against them last December. The possession percentages were as you’d expect from a City game but Hodgson has Palace well drilled and razor sharp on the break. They have shown an ability to withstand pressure from supposedly superior sides and then strike when chances present themselves. City don’t face quite the same tests that Barcelona have coming up but with two defeats in four games and odds of 12/1 available we’re going to side with Palace for half a point.
