We’re back after 2 wonderful weeks on a mid-season cruise round the Caribbean with Thursday Night Football Betting Tips. Partly paid for with our NFL profits this season I should add. No more sun, sand and rum cocktails now though, not till February. Let’s get this second half of the football season hit hard.
Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans
The Colts bounced back last week after a horrible surprise loss to the Dolphins in week 9. There was a clear change in strategy when beating the Jaguars 33-13 last time in Indianapolis.
Frank Reich’s men rushed for 264 yards in that game and that’s their highest since 2004. That same strategy could have worked well against Houston. The Texans have given up 645 penalty yards to Colts’ 481 and plenty of those have come when defending the rush.
I said ‘could’ because it’s unlikely to be used quite as much this week with huge out Marlon Mack suffering with a broken hand. That’s a massive miss for the Colts!
Earlier in the year, the Colts beat the Texans 30-23 and Brisset (QB) set career records for passing yards, passing touchdowns and passer rating. I’m thinking that he can match up pretty well against them again this week but misses his big out in Marlon Mack which might make them pretty one dimensional.
Houston comes in off their worst loss of the season 41-7 to Baltimore. There will naturally be an almighty effort to steady the ship. They are likely to rush plenty, currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yardage. That clock will keep ticking…
Both teams are 6-4 and needless to say, this is huge for the AFC South. That could lead to a slightly cagier approach than normal and with a 50% chance of rain, strong winds predicted and a massive part of the Colts’ offense out, unders looks the play.
